Celtics Win 107-89 Behind Strong Performances from Brown and Tatum
Jayson Tatum scored 29 points and Jaylen Brown added 28 as the Boston Celtics took Game 1 of the NBA Finals with a 107-89 victory over the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday night.
The Celtics led by just four points at halftime, but they pulled away in the third quarter, outscoring the Mavericks 32-18. Tatum and Brown combined for 20 points in the third quarter, and the Celtics never looked back.
Luka Dončić led the Mavericks with 24 points, but he was the only Dallas player to score more than 15 points. The Mavericks shot just 38.5% from the field and were outrebounded by the Celtics 52-35.
The Celtics will look to take a 2-0 lead in the series when Game 2 is played on Thursday night in Dallas.
