Salt Lake City 2034 Bid Also Approved

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has announced that the French Alps will host the XXVI Olympic Winter Games in 2030. The decision was made at the 142nd IOC Session in Mumbai, India.

The French Alps bid was put forward by the city of Grenoble, which hosted the Winter Olympics in 1968. The bid proposed using existing venues and infrastructure from the 1968 Games, as well as constructing new venues.

The IOC also awarded hosting rights for the 2034 Winter Olympics to Salt Lake City, Utah. Salt Lake City previously hosted the Winter Olympics in 2002.

The decision to award the 2030 and 2034 Winter Olympics to France and the United States is a significant moment for the Olympic movement. It marks the first time that two Winter Olympics will be awarded to the same continent in consecutive years.

The 2030 Winter Olympics will be a major sporting event, and it is expected to attract millions of spectators from around the world. The Games will also provide a significant boost to the economy of the French Alps region.
