Two Paths to Qualification
The journey to the Olympic Games Paris 2024 officially commences on 26 July 2024. Athletes from around the globe will gather to showcase their extraordinary abilities and compete for the coveted gold. To earn a spot on this prestigious stage, athletes must navigate the rigorous qualification process.
Aspiring Olympians have two distinct paths to qualification: achieving the entry standard or participating in continental qualification tournaments. For events such as the 10000m, combined events, race walks, and relays, the qualification window extends from 31 December 2022 to 30 June 2024.
For the majority of athletic events, the qualification period runs from 1 May 2023 to 31 May 2024. However, athletes should note that the Continental Qualification Tournaments will also play a crucial role in the qualification process. With over 1800 athletes vying for spots, the qualification phase promises to be fiercely competitive.
